THE CULPEPER MINUTEMEN FLAG – 1775

The Culpeper Minutemen formed in response to a call from the Virginia Convention to organize local militia forces.

Their flag drew from the Gadsden design, featuring the rattlesnake and the phrase “Don’t Tread On Me.”

At the Battle of Great Bridge in December 1775, they secured a decisive victory, marking one of the early wins for the Patriot cause.
